The Friends of St. Thomas'

As well as a working church and hub of the local community, St. Thomas is also a building of national architectural importance, and an iconic heritage and cultural destination dear to the hearts of many in Stockport and beyond. Since 2012, St. Thomas- a grade I listed building- has been placed on the English Heritage Buildings at Risk register, and the Friends of St. Thomas was set up in 2013 as a way of securing the future of the church for generations to come.

To be a Friend of St. Thomas is to be part of a community of like-minded people who love and care about this wonderful building and its fellowship. We link together those who want to show their support by joining in events and directly giving through subscriptions, donations and legacies.

Membership of the Friends costs just £15.00 per year (life membership also available). Friends receive two newsletters a year (May and November), as well as an invitation to a special pudding evening in summer and thanksgiving service in September. Every penny of the membership fee goes directly into restoring and conserving this outstanding building.

You can make a difference to St. Thomas today by becoming a Friend and helping us to ensure the survival of this unique and much-loved church.
